This 4-cylinder Audi is for the next tinkerer. The MOT has been failed and to pass it would still need at least new tyres, finishing the exhaust, replacing the expansion tank (it is leaking coolant) and restoring the stock software.


The following parts have been replaced within the last 5,000 km:

-both front lower control arms

-power steering repaired (a clamp had rusted off, replaced with a new clamp and the power steering now works)

-front right wheel bearing, outer joint, the foremost lower control arm

-driver's window regulator

-brake discs and pads on all four corners (about 10,000 km ago)

So quite a bit of money has already been spent and now only a few things remain to get roughly a year's worth of driving.


And a few faults I've noticed myself

-apparently due to bad software it occasionally goes into limp mode

-oil change should be done soon

-either the rims or tyres vibrate at 100–110 km/h

-worn exterior, but to be expected at this mileage and age
