Tax €623/year as a 5‑seater; the rear seats fold fully forward so it can almost be used as a van. Stays warmer in winter compared with the diesel versions.


Part‑time four‑wheel drive with a low‑range gearbox; will go almost anywhere if ground clearance allows. Torsion front suspension, so you can raise the nose by a couple of centimetres with a bolt; currently set to factory specification.


Kitka (studless winter) tyres fitted — fine for summer but should be renewed before next winter. Original wheels included; quite corroded and would benefit from blasting and repainting if you want to use them — they currently have old studded tyres.

All oils changed: engine, differentials, transfer box and gearbox; all filters replaced. Timing belt and all other belts replaced, thermostat at the same time. New spark plugs and ignition coils, and a new IAT valve/sensor. All brakes refurbished including pistons and new pads at every wheel.

New battery, new starter. New right front lower control arm. New lower bushes at the front both sides, new ball joints upper and lower at the front both sides. New front brake backing plates on both sides.

Excellent workhorse for off‑road use — this will get you where you need to go.


Drawbacks:

  • Air conditioning does not work; I have not recharged it so I don’t know if the refrigerant holds.

  • I have disconnected the cruise control cable because it is too tight.
