Audi A4, 2008, Helsinki

For sale: an Audi A4 saloon that I have driven for four years and which has served me well. The exterior is very neat and well-presented, and the interior has been kept in good condition. It sits on striking 19-inch black wheels with quality Michelin Pilot Sport tyres that have plenty of tread left. The engine and automatic gearbox run well, and the mechanical systems perform as they should.

However, the car has a fault in the front suspension, so it is being sold as non-roadworthy for repair and must be collected by flatbed. Do not drive the car.

The buyer is fully responsible for collecting and transporting the vehicle and any related costs.

Known faults (see Autopaja Tuusula diagnostic image):

 Front suspension: The left front wheel bearing has a clear large play (grinding) and the ABS sensor gives an error code (ABS and handbrake warning lights lit on the dashboard).

 Steering knuckles and control arms: On both the right and left sides the rear joints of the upper control arms are loose. The control arm mounting holes in the aluminium steering knuckles have significantly loosened during a previous repair (bolt drilled at an angle, etc.), so the control arms can move in the slot and the suspension bangs loudly. Both steering knuckles and upper control arms need replacing.

 Other: An oil leak has been observed on the engine that has not been investigated further. The left drive shaft clicks when turning.

An open official workshop diagnosis and an exact parts list of the damage are attached (workshop estimate with labour and premium parts €2,226.26). A skilled mechanic or hobbyist can order budget parts online for a couple of hundred euros and repair this themselves, making it an excellent car for a long time!
