For sale: Chevrolet Captiva 7-seat LS 2.4 M/T FWD AC, reg. 2006, approx. 220,000 km. This is a spacious, high everyday car for the next owner — no need to start explaining to neighbours that the car is too fancy. Overall it has seen life and the body has picked up some rust over the years shown in the pictures, so it’s not a museum piece and you needn’t fear the first parking-ding. The engine starts well and runs smoothly, but the power doesn’t feel fully there — perhaps a bit sluggish right now. The clutch judders and the brakes also make their presence known, and there is a knocking noise while driving of unknown origin, so it’s not a perfect specimen. Still a good project or cheap daily for someone who can do a bit of work and isn’t put off by small repairs. Technically it’s the sort of car that in the right hands can be made reliable for a long time without having to rob a bank. Interior is very roomy, 7 seats add practicality and riding position is pleasantly high — otherwise the car is actually surprisingly pleasant to drive.
