BMW 320i 2007 (N43) – MOT-tested, sold for repair from daily use

Sold for repair or to an enthusiast — a BMW used for daily commuting. The car is being sold at auction due to a NOx sensor fault and exhaust noise, as I don’t have the interest or time to repair it.

Known faults & notes:

NOx sensor: Throws a fault code and lights the engine warning lamp. Garage estimated the cost of a new sensor at around €500, which is the reason for sale.

Exhaust: Rear silencer was changed by a previous owner to get "more impressive" sound. (The MOT inspector did not object.)


Positives & recent maintenance:

  • MOT: MOT carried out at the start of the year with a clean report; the inspector praised the car’s condition.

  • Servicing: Oil and filter changed about a month ago. According to the previous owner, all injectors have also been renewed — see the service book! Also used in BMW’s driver airbag campaign last month.

  • Drives well: The mechanical parts seem to work nicely; the suspension does not rattle.

  • Appearance: Stylish "Angel Eyes" headlights fitted and accepted by the MOT authority. A "Pioneer" Bluetooth radio was installed by an earlier owner.

  • Two sets of tyres, studs OK.
