The barrel is made of polyethylene and is completely seamless, very easy to keep clean and simple to use.

The complete delivery includes a stylish, snow‑load resistant plastic cover with lifting handle, a large approx. 35 kW marine‑aluminium stove, drain tap and drain pipe. The tub is insulated. The base contains 45 cm of Styrox filling, so this tub will not be affected by frost. The outer shell is Finnish heat‑treated pine (Lunawood). The tub package is 100% Finnish quality work.

Hyvän Kaupan Paikka’s Classic Hot Tub is manufactured in Finland down to every last particle. We are proud of our production line and have made this Classic Hot Tub model for years with the same working method. The tub’s rim panels arrive at the factory as long stock, are cut to size and formed into an element into which the previously glued insulating base from Sastamala and the maintenance‑free PE plastic shell moulded by Pipelif from Oulu are inserted. Our skilled production experts drill the drain hole in the bottom, the heater holes in the side and fit the hoses. Finally the package is carefully tipped on its side to fit the drain pipe.

The Classic Hot Tub is delivered freight‑free to its new happy owner, who only needs a water hose, firewood and fire‑lighting tools. The new owner must ensure the tub is installed level so the water does not sit unevenly. Installation instructions are included, but in practice you only need to fasten the heater to the tub with hose clamps on a level surface, screw in the heater’s drain valve and voilà — time for a soak.

Improved seating comfort in the rotationally‑moulded shell – also for taller bathers

The maintenance‑free, moulded PE shell comes almost from next door, from Pipelif in Oulu. At their factory the plastic granules are shaped in a rotation moulding process. The granules are placed in the mould which then spins in an oven for an hour. After cooling the shell is ready to move to Hyvän Kaupan Paikka’s production line.

We paid special attention to seating comfort in the shell design. The sides are not vertical, leaving a wedge‑shaped insulating air gap between the shell and the rim panels that better supports the bather’s back. Our rims are on average higher than other manufacturers’, so even taller bathers have their shoulders below the steam line and their necks won’t get cold. Seat comfort is top class and legs don’t get cramped in this tub, because despite the height the bench is not too low.

Super‑efficient marine‑aluminium stove

The marine‑aluminium stoves in our hot tub packages are made in Finland. The powerful 35 kW stove handles even brackish water, as it is suitable for both fresh and marine water. Carefully chosen material details make the stove a top product. Marine aluminium conducts heat very well, the stove’s front plate is stainless steel and the glass door lets you check the fire without opening the door. The heater package includes two metres of chimney pipe and a rain cap, but if you want extra pipe, a chimney guard or spark arrestor, check the accessories list.

Remember that chlorine is not recommended with marine aluminium, as chlorine oxidises marine aluminium. We recommend changing the water frequently and using active oxygen tablets (see accessories). Active oxygen sanitises the water for about 24 hours, after which the water can be used for watering as it contains no added chemicals and is safer for children. Non‑oxidised water can form a slimy film on the tub edges, but active oxygen prevents this.

Easy maintenance with little effort

The Classic Hot Tub won’t freeze at the base even when the ground is frozen. The 45 cm insulated Styrox in the base prevents the cold from reaching the bottom and helps keep the water warmer. A plastic cover is included, which significantly reduces heat loss. A well‑heated tub can be brought back up to temperature the next morning with a single load of firewood.

Plenty of warmth also comes from the Lunawood heat‑treated pine panels that crown the tub’s appearance as the rim material. You don’t need to do anything to the pine panels unless you want to. They will age to an attractive grey over the years. If you prefer to keep the brown shade, apply wood oil annually. The plastic shell is maintenance‑free: with no moulded seams dirt has nowhere special to collect. Still, remember to clean the tub surfaces when changing water. This is easy with ordinary detergents. Careful users may sometimes disinfect their tub, but remember to handle waste water correctly.
