Humans have created a society where you can’t always build a sauna wherever you like. There is a solution, though: the Barrel Sauna with a front terrace can be placed practically anywhere. Of course it makes sense to place it on your own land to avoid disputes over ownership. Although the barrel sauna is small, its steam is generous. The round shape directs the steam in a different way than in traditional saunas. Your toes won’t get cold and the steam won’t hit you sharply. Sauna for difficult spots

Barrel saunas are lightweight structures and can be moved even after the first heats. The secret of a barrel sauna built on a solid gravel bed is that there are support feet under the barrel, keeping the sauna off the ground and making it easy to move. The lack of heavy, fixed foundations makes siting easier and many use the barrel sauna as a lakeside sauna, since you can’t build a fixed sauna right on the shoreline. Naturally you can place the barrel sauna on a deck or pour a concrete base under it, but siting is mostly a matter of imagination. Still, remember to check the base with a spirit level so the sauna stands straight. The intention is not to move the sauna while people are enjoying the steam.

The barrel sauna can be moved with a forklift or a tractor lift using slings. A sauna moved to the beach for the summer can easily be moved closer to the cottage or house for winter with the help of a neighbouring farmer.

Small space miracle

The wooden sauna capsule seats 4–6 bathers depending on rear size and comfort preferences. Quality benches pamper bathers with their warm tones. The Harvia M3 stove brings gentle heat into the barrel and, through the glass door, the cheerful play of the fire lights up the sauna walls. Small windows and the door window also bring light into the barrel. You won’t run out of air: just open the door briefly to let in plenty of fresh air.

Waste water handled

The optional Sauna-Seppo wash-water filter removes worries about waste water, since water run through the filter can be released back into nature without triggering environmental fines from the building control.

Almost shoulder-carriable delivery

We are happy to deliver the complete unit to your home yard, and you don’t need lifting equipment if you choose delivery by hiab truck. However, the Barrel Sauna with front terrace weighs only 700 kg so you can also collect it with your own trailer if your car’s towing capacity allows. It’s almost something you could sling over your shoulder and carry home, but not quite. A trailer is better.

The delivery includes everything essential, roofing felt included. At the moment a building permit is still required to build the sauna, but we provide architectural drawings for the permit. The kit comes with illustrated instructions and you can request the building-permit drawings in advance so you can start assembling your new sauna straight away when it arrives. You will need a drill, screwdriver, hammer, saw, tape measure, pencil and a calm enthusiasm for assembly. Always read the instructions carefully before each stage of work.
