Renault Safrane, 1995, Tampere

For sale: Renault Safrane -95 with the 2.2 J7T engine (107 hp) and a manual gearbox.

It was Renault's flagship of its time and the ride is in keeping with that.

This particular example is a basic/entry-level trim, so equipment is sparse. Electric mirrors, electric front windows, rear windows are wound up manually and there is central locking with remote.

The car has been kept tidy and in good condition. I am the second owner in Finland; it was imported from Germany in the early 2000s. When I acquired it it had been standing since around 2014 and I have now revived it to good running order. Service book and related documents available.

Two sets of new tyres on alloy wheels, summer and winter.

Work carried out now for inspection and after long storage:

Basic oil service for engine and gearbox.

Coolant replacement.

Filters.

Ignition components: spark plugs and distributor rotor(s).

Timing belt and tensioner, plus accessory belts.

Brakes renewed – discs and pads on all corners.

Rear wheel bearings replaced.

Front wishbones and driver's lower ball joint replaced.

Tie-rod boots.

New battery and bulbs.

New tyre sets for summer and winter.

Technically the car now runs flawlessly and has been brought back to the road.

On the downside, as a 31‑year‑old car it has scratches, a few dents and some wear, visible in the pictures.

Some areas of the arches and the bumper have small patches of paint loss.

However, the car appears to have been well galvanised, as there is essentially no rust anywhere.

The underside is very good and in solid condition.
