The barrel is made from polyethylene and is completely seamless, very easy to keep clean and simple to use.

The complete delivery includes a sturdy snow‑load resistant plastic cover with lifting handle, a large approx. 35 kW marine‑aluminium stove, a drain tap and drain pipe. The tub is insulated. The base has a 45 cm Styrox fill so the tub is frost‑protected. The outer shell is domestic heat‑treated pine (Lunawood). The tub package is 100% Finnish quality craftsmanship.

The Hyvän Kaupan Paikka Classic Hot Tub is manufactured entirely in Finland. We are proud of our production line and have made this Classic Hot Tub model for years with the same reliable method. The rim panels arrive to the factory long; they are cut to size and formed into an element that houses the previously glued Jackon insulation base from Sastamala and the maintenance‑free PE plastic basin moulded by Pipelif from Oulu. Our experienced line specialists drill the drain hole in the base, make the stove openings in the side and fit the hoses. Finally the package is carefully tipped on its side to fit the drain pipe.

The Classic Hot Tub is delivered carriage paid to its new happy owner, who needs only a water hose, firewood and basic fire‑lighting tools. The new owner should ensure the tub is installed level so the water does not sit unevenly. The package includes installation instructions, but in practice you fit the stove to the level base with hose clamps, screw the stove drain valve closed and—tadaa—time for a dip.

Improved seating comfort in the rotationally‑moulded basin – also for taller bathers

The maintenance‑free, rotationally‑moulded PE basin comes from nearby Oulu, from Pipelif. Their process precisely moulds the basin from plastic granules. The granules are placed in a mould which is rotated in an oven for an hour. After cooling the basin is ready to be transferred to our production line.

We paid special attention to seating comfort. The basin sides are not vertical; a wedge‑shaped insulating air gap between the basin and rim panels better supports the bather’s back. Our rims are generally higher than other manufacturers’, so taller bathers can submerge their shoulders under the steaming water without cold necks. Seat comfort is top‑class and legs don’t cramp in this tub because, despite the height, the bench is not too low.

Super‑efficient marine‑aluminium stove

The marine‑aluminium stoves in our packages are made in Finland. The powerful 35 kW stove copes even with seawater; it works with both fresh and brackish water. Carefully chosen materials make the stove a top product. Marine aluminium conducts heat well, the stove’s front plate is stainless steel and the glass door lets you check the fire without opening it. The stove package includes two metres of chimney pipe and a rain cap; for extra pipe, a spark arrestor or grille, see the accessories list.

Note that chlorine is not recommended with marine aluminium as chlorine oxidises the alloy. We recommend changing the water often and using active oxygen tablets (see accessories). Active oxygen treats the water for about 24 hours, after which the water can be used for watering as it contains no added chemicals and is safer for children. Untreated water easily forms slippery residues on the basin rim, which active oxygen prevents.

Easy maintenance with little effort

The Classic Hot Tub does not freeze at the base even in frost. The 45 cm Styrox insulation prevents cold reaching the bottom and helps keep the water warmer. The delivery includes a plastic cover which substantially reduces heat loss. A well‑heated tub can be brought back to temperature the next morning with one load of wood.

There is also warmth in the Lunawood heat‑treated pine panels that finish the tub’s appearance. You do not need to treat the pine; left untreated it will weather to a beautiful grey. If you prefer to keep a brown shade, apply wood oil annually. The plastic basin is low‑maintenance: with no moulded seams dirt cannot collect in hidden places. Remember to clean the basin surfaces when changing the water with ordinary cleaning agents. For meticulous users occasional disinfection is possible — but ensure correct disposal of waste water.
