BMW 530, 2004, Kempele

Here’s a basic, tidy BMW with good mechanical condition up for auction. There is a comprehensive service book in the glovebox and the most recent service was about 4,000 km ago. The gearbox oil has been changed/flushed a couple of times in its history, so the box works well and does not judder. The turbo was also replaced about a year ago. The car came to me after a minor collision but has since been repaired and MOT-tested. Damaged parts were replaced with intact ones—no body filler used to straighten panels. I will include all certificates for body measurements, four-wheel alignment and safety-system inspection; all are in order. Comes with two sets of tyres; studded winter tyres on alloy wheels are also in usable condition for winter.

At the most recent service the following were changed:

• engine oil and filter. X1R additive added.

• intake manifold gasket and valve cover gasket

• both thermostats and water pump

• both front belts

• power steering

• alternator - factory-refurbished unit

• both front shock absorbers

• track rod end

• rear suspension anti-rattle fittings both sides

• four-wheel alignment performed after suspension work

Fitted to the car:

• -40 mm lowering springs at the front, rear lowered by remapping

• M5 replica front bumper, M-Sport rear bumper and side skirts

• LEDs for the interior and licence plate lights

• Exhaust with a single silencer; other boxes emptied

• ECU programmed to 230 hp / 550 Nm

Cons:

• air conditioning needs to be recharged

• rear brake pad wear warning is showing; new pads included

• remote locking only works at close range. The radio finds stations fine, so it may be a low battery?

• some signs of use are visible, but overall appears tidy for its age.

• engine oil drips slightly from somewhere.

• windscreen is cracked

I’ve used this car for commuting and a winter holiday trip and can only praise how well it drives. Comfortable to cover distance and nothing affects the driving. So—feel free to bid boldly!
