Traditional wooden clinker-built boat, Sastamala

This is an excellent wooden boat for someone who wants to preserve tradition—the clinker-built construction method has even been listed as UNESCO cultural heritage!

Boat measurements: length 4.65 m and width 1.75 m. The space under the bow and stern seats is open, but there is a lockable storage compartment under the centre seat.

At times it has been fitted with a small outboard, sometimes a 20 hp outboard. Oars and lines for bow and stern are included.

The boat is well suited for a holiday-cottage owner or angler; it does not drift with nets in the wind like lightweight small boats.

Wooden boats like this need to be soaked in spring so the timber swells — otherwise you can end up like the previous owner: he launched a large wooden boat and did not check it until a week later, by which time it had sunk up to the cabin at the jetty. Some owners swell their boats while ashore; others pump out water after launching.

Out of the boating season this boat has been stored under a roof and protected from the weather.

A registered steel-constructed boat trailer under the boat is included in the lot.

Once the sale is completed, collection within one week, no later than 3 May 2026. The buyer will call after the auction ends to arrange collection.
