During the test drive we made the following observations:
The valve cover has been removed and the timing chain was found to be very loose. The front lambda sensor was removed; the other lambda was so tight the threads were damaged. The catalytic converter and its honeycomb were photographed and show a fairly large crater from melting. The cooling system was pressure-tested and the cylinders photographed: there are traces of coolant on the valves and on top of the pistons. There is slight fluid weep at the head seam, but as the engine is cold any crack/gasket leak may not be large. The cylinder head must be removed and pressure-tested.
To be replaced: timing chain kit, valve cover gasket, crankshaft oil seal, catalytic converter and lambda sensors.
The left rear door lock is missing and does not stay closed.
