For sale as a repair/project car: Audi A5 Sportback. The car moves and is drivable for short transfers, but it has significant drivetrain and oil-leak issues, so I recommend collection by trailer/tow. Driving it is at your own risk.

Condition and faults

Transmission / clutch (S tronic / DL501):

  • During driving, unusual transmission behaviour observed: the clutch engages noticeably during take-off and gear changes.

  • Transmission oil leaks from several locations:

    • transmission cooler/coolant line area (leak at cooler/lines, mounts broken)

    • also a leak from the rear of the transmission (Torsen)

  • Clutch pressures checked with test equipment:

    • K1 lower pressure 2.69 bar / upper pressure 7.35 bar

    • K2 lower pressure 2.45 bar / upper pressure 7.44 bar

    • upper pressures are below reference values

  • The report states that due to the oil leaks the clutch may already have been damaged by slipping.

Engine:

  • Engine oil leaks (e.g. timing cover area, V-bearing and front side).

  • Accessory drive and high-pressure pump belt contaminated with oil (may cause squeal/slip).

Drivetrain / chassis:

  • Right front drive shaft: play in the inner joint and outer joint gaiter torn.

Electrical / fault codes:

  • Fault memory contains codes, e.g. for glow plugs.

Repair plan (according to report, summary)

  • Repair transmission oil leaks and check operation

  • At minimum replace the dual-mass flywheel

  • Be prepared to replace the clutch and mechatronics repair kit

  • Replace right drive shaft when the old one is removed

  • Repair engine oil leaks: seal V-bearing, timing cover (and timing chain at the same time) and accessory drive

Body / external damage

  • Small dents/dings on the front bumpers.

  • RS bumper has scrapes/damage (see photos).

  • Damage on the front corners, both right and left.

  • Left front wing (panel) slightly creased/scratched.

  • No significant rust observed.
