For sale: a well-running, tidy basic 523i. This is an import from Germany.

Major service just carried out and valve cover replaced. Engine was replaced 61,000 km ago and the timing components were fitted to the new engine at the same time. Rear springs were replaced at the last service.

The car has steel springs, so there is no rear air-bag problem in winter which is quite common on the F10 body.

This is not a new car, so there is a stone chip on the bonnet and a small dent beside the rear boot badge. The steering wheel and the driver’s interior handle also show wear. Otherwise the car is in tidy condition for its age.

Sold with two sets of wheels and two keys.

Negatives

• The driver’s seat heater warms the seat somewhat but does not work fully (fault possibly with the temperature sensor).

• The air-conditioning motor can growl quite loudly at times when warming up but it works.
