The barrel is made of polyethylene and is completely seamless, very easy to keep clean and simple to use.

The complete delivery includes a sturdy, snow‑load‑resistant plastic lid with lifting handle, a large approx. 35 kW marine‑aluminium stove, drain tap and drain pipe. The barrel is thermally insulated. The base contains a 45 cm Styrox fill, so frost will not spoil the bather’s experience. The exterior is Finnish heat‑treated pine (Lunawood). The tub package is 100% Finnish quality workmanship.

Hyvän Kaupan Paikka’s Classic Hot Tub is manufactured in Finland down to the smallest detail. We are proud of our production line and have produced this Classic Hot Tub model for years using the same reliable process. The rim panels arrive at the factory as long stock. They are cut to length and made into an element into which the previously glued insulating base from Sastamala and the maintenance‑free PE plastic basin moulded by Pipelifes from Oulu are slipped. Our production experts drill the drain hole in the base, make the heater holes in the side and fit the hoses. Finally, the package is gently tipped on its side to install the drain pipe.

Classic Hot Tub is delivered freight‑free to its new happy owner, who only needs a garden hose, firewood and fire‑lighting tools. The new owner should ensure the tub is installed level so the water does not sit unevenly. Installation instructions are included, but in practice the new owner only needs to attach the heater to the tub with hose clamps on a level surface, screw the heater’s drain valve shut and, well, jump in.

Improved seating comfort in the rotationally moulded basin – also for taller bathers

The maintenance‑free, rotationally moulded PE basin comes almost from next door, from Pipelifes in Oulu. At their factory the plastic granules are formed into the basin by a precise rotating mould process. After a one‑hour oven cycle and cooling the basin is ready to be moved to Hyvän Kaupan Paikka’s production line.

We paid special attention to seating comfort when designing the basin. The basin sides are not vertical, leaving a wedge‑shaped insulating air gap between the basin and rim panels which is gentler on the bather’s back. Our tubs have slightly higher rims than many other manufacturers, so even taller bathers can submerge their shoulders below the steaming water surface without their necks getting cold. The seating comfort is top class and legs don’t get cramped in this tub, since the seat is not too low despite the overall height.

Super‑efficient marine‑aluminium stove

The marine‑aluminium stoves included in our hot tub packages are made in Finland. The powerful 35 kW stove copes even with seawater, and works with both fresh and brackish water. Carefully chosen materials make the stove a hot top product. Marine‑aluminium conducts heat very well, the stove’s front plate is stainless steel and the glass door allows checking the fire without opening it. The stove package includes two metres of chimney pipe and a rain cap, but if you want extra pipe, a chimney guard or a spark arrestor, see the accessories list.

Remember that chlorine is not recommended with marine‑aluminium because chlorine oxidises the alloy. We recommend changing the water regularly and using active oxygen tablets (see accessories). Active oxygen treats the water for about a day; afterwards the water can be used for watering as it contains no added chemicals and is safer for children. Stagnant water may form a slimy film on the tub edges, but active oxygen prevents this.

Easy maintenance with little effort

The Classic Hot Tub won’t freeze even when the ground frosts. The 45 cm Styrox insulation in the base prevents cold from reaching the bottom and helps keep the water warmer. A plastic lid is included, which greatly reduces heat loss. A well‑heated hot tub can be brought back to temperature the next morning with a single load of wood.

There is also warmth in the Lunawood heat‑treated pine rim panels, which complete the tub’s appearance. You don’t need to treat the pine panels if you don’t want to — they will silver‑grey beautifully over the years. If you prefer to keep the brown tone, apply wood oil annually. The plastic basin is maintenance‑free too: without moulded seams there are no niches for dirt to collect. Remember to keep the basin surfaces clean when changing water — normal detergents do the job. More meticulous users can occasionally disinfect their basin, but remember to handle wastewater appropriately.
