The cleaning effect of an ultrasonic cleaner is produced by transmitting waves (inaudible to the human eye) through the cleaning liquid. This creates thousands of tiny cavitation centres (microbubbles), which then implode under the action of the same sound waves. The penetration of the microbubbles causes local, rapid pressure changes that detach dirt particles (grease, other impurities) from the surface of an item. With this method you can clean effectively all surfaces submerged in the cleaner without having to scrub or wipe away the dirt.
