Ultrasonic cleaners are ecological cleaning systems. 

The cleaning effect is produced by transmitting waves (invisible to the human eye) through the cleaning liquid. This creates thousands of tiny cavitation centres (microbubbles) which then collapse under the action of the same sound waves. The penetration of microbubbles causes local, rapid pressure changes that dislodge dirt particles (grease and other impurities) from the surface of the item. This method lets you clean effectively all surfaces submerged in the tank without scrubbing or wiping. 

When a suitable fluid is used, it is ideal for disinfecting all kinds of items.
