⚠️ Diesel heater Safety instructions

The diesel heater's combustion process consumes oxygen and produces dangerous exhaust gases. Incorrect installation can lead to carbon monoxide poisoning or fire.

1. Exhaust routing (Main rule)

• Exhausted only outside: Exhaust gases must be directed completely outside the building, tent or vehicle using a metal exhaust pipe.

• Sealing: Ensure the exhaust pipe connection to the heater body is sealed with the supplied clamp. Even a small leak into the interior can be fatal.

• CO alarm: Always install a quality carbon monoxide (CO) alarm in the space. It is a cheap lifesaver.

  
  

2. Exhaust temperature and insulation

The exhaust pipe reaches very high temperatures in use.

• Max temperature: Diesel heater exhaust temperatures can reach about 250–450 °C at the outlet depending on power. The metal pipe itself can glow hot.

• Penetration/through-wall: If the exhaust pipe passes through a wall or floor, use a non-combustible insulating material (e.g. mineral wool or a separate metal flue sleeve). The pipe must not touch wood, plastic or other combustible materials directly.

• Distance: Keep the exhaust pipe at least 10 cm away from any meltable or flammable materials along its entire length.

  
  

3. Combustion air and heated air

• Separate air intakes: Ensure the heater's exhaust is not near the unit's combustion air intake or the interior air intake. Otherwise the unit can draw its own exhaust back in.

  
  

4. Fuel handling

• Position the fuel tank so that in the event of a leak diesel cannot run onto a hot exhaust pipe.
