Defects and other observations

Issues:

  • Windshield cracked, but still passed the MOT.

  • Paint sanding and finishing are unfinished. A couple of touch-up spots on top of the primer and the sanding needs completing. (Work stopped due to winter.)

  • It would be good to replace the KYB valve in the gearbox — approx. a3110 plus new gearbox oil.

  • I have not replaced it because the symptoms only occur in very cold weather: with a cold transmission the vehicle may stall when selecting D or R after starting. Restart and it runs normally. Occurs only in severe cold.

  • Known fault with the Sprinter 722.6 gearbox.

  • Glow plugs and the glow-plug relay should be serviced or replaced at some point.
