Police Yamaha XT1200Z, 2012, 91,790 km, Tampere

A rarer motorcycle model formerly used by the Finnish police. Yamaha Super Ténéré 1200 with a 1,200 cc engine. Unladen weight is 261 kg and power approx. 110 hp (82 kW). Well maintained and everything works as it should.

Owned by me since spring 2024. I have changed the oil and filter each spring before riding. In autumn 2025 I changed the coolant, spark plugs and air filter. Brake fluids were changed in autumn 2024 and the final drive oil last in spring 2024 just before riding. Currently stored partly outside during winter and partly in a warm shed. I have used only genuine Yamaha parts in services.

Type faults have been fixed: corroded headlight earth connector and wiring repaired, rattling clutch housing parts replaced (no longer rattles) and the timing chain tensioner replaced with a manual Graves Motorsports unit (same as used on Yamaha R1).

Clutch and brakes work as they should.

Michelin Road 6 tyres are in very good condition with plenty of tread left.

The centre stand makes servicing easy and the shaft drive removes the need for chain cleaning, lubrication and tensioning entirely.

Only 1 key.

The battery has been replaced with a more powerful, lighter lithium unit which has been kept charged indoors.

Externally the bike is in the same condition as when withdrawn from police service: the rear seat and passenger footpegs are missing and in their place is the bag shown in the photos.

- ABS switch that allows the ABS to be disabled via a fuse. This allows the rear wheel to lock when braking for off-road riding. The system only reactivates after switching the ignition off and on once.
