The moped is registered, refurbished and in original condition.
The Norsjö Shopper and Norsjö Partner, also known as the Forshaga Shopper, was a three-wheeled covered moped manufactured by Norsjö Mekaniska Verkstads AB from 1961–1994.
The Partner model was introduced in 1961 and was originally called the "shopper". When it was modernised in 1964 it was also given the model name Shopper. In 1964 it was marketed as "the housewife’s disposable car."
The moped had a tubular frame covered with sheet metal, and the bonnet was made of fibreglass-reinforced plastic. The moped was designed by comic artist CarlEric Göransson (Teknik för alla).
The mopeds had an exemption permit and were approved with a slightly more powerful engine, 1.5 hp, and later with an exemption allowing them to be ridden without a helmet. According to the Swedish Transport Agency, the helmet exemption applies only if the moped has an approved seat belt.
Early models used a blower-cooled 1 hp Husqvarna engine with a manual gearbox, foot-operated clutch and mechanical gear lever. Some Husqvarna-engined models were started from the driver’s seat with a hand crank, others with a pull cord similar to a lawnmower/brushcutter. The vehicle was three-wheeled with disc brakes on all 8-inch wheels. Weight was 74 kg.
The vehicle is steered by a control cable much like small cabin boats. The steering wheel is attached to a fibreglass cover that folds up when boarding and alighting the vehicle.
Eventually the Husqvarna engines were replaced by 1.5 hp Sachs engines with automatic transmissions called Saxonette. These had a manual lever that had to be held down "to engage gear", allowing even automatic-transmission engines to be started if the pull cord broke or the engine was hard to start. This also worked on models with electric start.
Electric start later became available as an option, in which case the moped had a starter battery and a 12 V electrical system instead of the more common 6 V.
In 1964 a new Shopper cost 2,000 kronor and in 1988 about 24,000 kronor.
Engine: 47 cm³, petrol, 1.1 kW
Removed from traffic: Standard removal on 2 September 2021 - The vehicle is laid up but will be returned to road use once the sale is completed.
The vehicle must be collected within 7 days of the auction ending unless otherwise agreed - Huutokaupat.com.
The moped has been mechanically restored, with new tyres and repainted in the original colours. Last ridden outdoors two years ago and the moped is registered. The only noted defect is the windscreen wiper motor.
