Volvo V70 D5 AWD, 2007, Rovaniemi

A well-equipped daily driven four-wheel-drive Volvo D5 with the robust diesel engine and a manual gearbox. Acquired for the household in spring 2025 as a safe and reliable travel companion for work trips, and it has performed excellently for approx. 22,000 km. It’s been brilliant here in Lapland — with the Webasto heater on it starts without complaint even in temperatures below -30°C. Now that the travel work has ended, there’s no longer a need for a large diesel.

Car MOTed in October 2025 (long certificate) and last serviced in December 2025.

Notable services/repairs:

• Haldex oil and gearbox oil changed at 280,000 km

• Timing chain cover and water pump at 303,000 km

• Alternator, power steering pump and serpentine belt at 325,000 km

• Front left ABS ring at 343,000 km

• Control arms and brake parts etc. replaced over time — receipts in photos

Body and interior are very tidy for the age! Small beginning rust on the rear arches, I tried to photograph these as clearly as possible. Small paint bubbling on the front left arch, also photographed. Interior otherwise fine, apart from normal wear on the driver’s seat leather in the usual place — worn but not torn. Pictures say more than a thousand words.

To be fair, the new owner will need to buy summer tyres before summer — the summer tyres are worn. Winter tyres still have good tread, although a few studs have come off and due to the coarse tread they are a bit noisy, but fine to use this winter. Rims: original Volvo 17-inch on summers, 16-inch on winters (as seen in the photos).

Other minor issues I’ve lived with;

The fuel filler flap lock is worn. The flap can be opened easily from inside the boot and locks again in a few seconds, so it hasn’t been a problem.

Also the radio is dead — likely a soldering fault. All other dashboard switches and buttons work. A refurbished original unit can be obtained (e.g. Sercap) for about €190.

Finally, the rear left number plate light and front left parking light are out. These were noted in the MOT. To be fair I can buy the parts for the new owner so they can be fitted.

The car was originally imported from Sweden, so the trip computer language is Swedish. At some point in its life the right front corner received a minor knock (replaced parts total 2%), but it has been repaired and driven tens of thousands of kilometres since and passed MOTs without issues.
