This time going to the highest bidder is the Finns’ ideal car, the hugely popular Škoda Octavia with reliable diesel engineering.


The car doesn’t need much introduction — it says a lot that this is year after year among the best-selling models in Finland... though that probably tells you more about the buyers. :)


This is the newer body style from 2013, so it looks fairly modern.

It’s not some passing trophy — only two owners and the previous owner had it for about 10 years.


The car isn’t crushed or damaged in any major way, and it has only normal signs of use. There are corrosion spots inside and around the body — there is still some metal left for rust to eat. I tried to describe all the marks in the photos. These cars were never showpieces when new and certainly not at this age; mechanical condition is much more important now.


The car drives well: no knocks or loose bearings. It has decent power and the brakes and clutch work as they should.

The only complaint is the Webasto heater, which won’t start, so the car warms up very slowly — could be a thermostat or similar issue.

The most important technical things are in order; the previous inspection wasn’t that long ago. The next MOT is not due until September 2026.


The interior is black and mostly intact, though the driver’s seat edge is worn through. It’s not terribly dirty and importantly it hasn’t been smoked in nor does it smell of dogs.


Service history is quite good. I don’t think any immediate servicing is required. Even the timing belt is in good condition.


The studded winter tyres are excellent; the summer tyres are just about legal and thin, but they’ll get you going. Both sets are on alloy wheels.


This would make a great project for someone handy — with a little attention it could be a very good car for years to come. It’s drivable as is, but if it were mine I’d try to sort it out.

On a short test drive we made the following observations:

- The tailgate electric struts cannot lift the gate fully. The tailgate still works.

- Cruise control does not function.

- The Webasto heater does not work; warming is veeeery slow.

- Mechanical systems work well.

- The chassis and drivetrain are in good condition.


The car has not undergone a technical inspection and not all equipment has been tested. You are welcome to inspect the car at our dealership in Lappeenranta.
