The Makita DPO600Z is a powerful cordless polisher for demanding use by automotive and marine professionals and hobbyists. The professional-grade dual-action polisher offers an orbital action with or without forced rotation and a separate polishing mode. It features a maintenance-free brushless motor and an adjustable 5-stage speed control. The 150 mm backing pad is hook-and-loop. The bare tool version is sold without battery or charger.

Speed can be adjusted on a 1–5 scale (0–780 min⁻¹). The DPO600 cordless polisher offers two abrasive motions: forced rotation and free orbital motion. Forced rotation is used, for example, to apply polishing compound or wax to the surface. Free orbital motion is used for polishing. There is also a finishing setting (0–600 min⁻¹) to limit the usable speed range. The tool maintains a steady speed under load, which helps keep the finish consistent.

The Makita polisher is ergonomically shaped for a secure two-handed grip. The switch can be locked for longer work periods so you do not have to hold it down. Depending on the battery used, speed setting and load, the tool can run for up to about one hour on a single charge.

A safety switch prevents accidental start-up and the battery protection system automatically cuts power if the battery overheats or the charge is low.
