Ford Transit Custom 2.2 TDCi – kilometres and life experience!

For sale is a Ford Transit Custom first registered in 2014, showing a respectable 397,000 kilometres. This one has certainly not spent its life gathering dust in a car park!

One of this Ford’s strengths is under the bonnet: a 2.2-litre diesel engine with a chain-driven timing system! There is no need to worry about replacing an oil-bathed timing belt, although the timing chain may also require attention with mileage.

There is more than grit and determination in terms of equipment, too! This workhorse comes with a Webasto auxiliary heater, heated windscreen, cruise control, leather-trimmed multifunction steering wheel, air conditioning, Bluetooth connectivity and a tow bar! So although the exterior has seen plenty of life, the cabin still offers some welcome comforts. Cold mornings are easier, air conditioning helps in summer heat, and you can enjoy your own playlists on the journey!

And one particularly good piece of news for entrepreneurs: the vehicle is eligible for VAT deduction! In suitable business use, this workhorse may therefore provide a useful tax benefit. Not bad!

Technically, the vehicle is probably operational, but given the mileage we will not promise the moon. The airbag warning light comes on from time to time, and the vehicle also reports a brake pad warning.

The exterior honestly shows a life well lived. There are plenty of minor cosmetic defects, and rust has also made an appearance. But who needs perfection, especially in a work vehicle?

Two sets of wheels are included, both made by Nokian. A few studs have come loose from the studded tyres over the years, but they are estimated to have around two to three winters of tread remaining. The summer tyres also have about one summer of use left, so there is no need to head straight to the tyre shop!

This could be a suitable vehicle for renovation work, construction-site use or a practical hobbyist who is not put off by minor cosmetic flaws.
