Finnish company Valco was undoubtedly the headphone sensation of 2020. This start-up with its distinctive sense of humour brought noise-cancelling headphones, fine-tuned by audio guru Jasse Kesti, to the market a year earlier—and they became an overnight hit.

Finnish musicians and industry professionals in particular took the “Valcos” to heart, from Amorphis’s drummer to Arttu Wiskari. They have also been spotted in personal use by artists on the TV series Vain Elämää.

Valco headphones are now sold from Finland to 35 different countries. Their popularity is based on excellent sound quality for music playback, over 40 hours of battery life and an outstanding price-to-quality ratio.

In cooperation with Elisa, Valco has released the next version of its hit headphones. Feedback on the previous model has been taken into account and the headphones have been optimised to better meet customers’ needs.

The headphones have been redesigned by Finnish Ratamo Industrial Design, and their fabric covering is both attractive and practical. It withstands moisture and dirt, while also reducing the effect of wind on noise cancellation.

With a renewed Bluetooth antenna and improved hands-free microphone, the headphones are even better suited to office and remote working. In particular, the 40-hour battery life enables longer Teams marathons. Most importantly, the sound quality has been improved further. Audio guru Jasse Kesti used (in his opinion) the world’s best hi-fi headphones as a reference and tuned the VMK20 headphones to an even higher standard, reaching a completely new level in their price range.
