See photos for condition. The furnishings are used.

For sale is a set of two abstract art sculptures, one of which, based on the marking on the plinth, is the work Tulivaunu II by Finnish sculptor Erik Mäkinen.

Erik Mäkinen is a Finnish sculptor and one of the founders of Jööti bronze foundry, which operates in the Turku region. He is particularly known for his bronze sculptures and distinctive, heavily textured style.

Work 1 – Tulivaunu II

• Artist: Erik Mäkinen (based on the plinth marking)

• Title: Tulivaunu II

• Material: Bronze, wooden plinth

• Design: Abstract sculpture consisting of several vertical elements

• Surface finish: Rough bronze surface and greenish patina

• The plinth bears a handwritten work marking that appears original

Work 2 – Unknown work, marked ‘v. 81’

• Artist: Erik Mäkinen

• Material: Metal alloy, possibly bronze, wooden plinth

• Design: Elongated, organic abstract sculpture

• Surface finish: Dark, heavily textured surface with areas in gold and bronze tones

• The wooden plinth is stylistically similar to that of Tulivaunu II

• Engraved EM (Erik Mäkinen) and probably a reference to the year 1981.

Condition:

Both sculptures are used. The surfaces have unevenness, patina, wear and colour variations, which may partly be elements of the artist’s original expression. The wooden plinths show signs of wear.
