The Speedlite 430EX II is a powerful and versatile flash unit with a guide number of 43. Wireless slave-flash operation, nine custom functions and a 24–105 mm zoom flash head expand your shooting possibilities.

• E-TTL II flash metering

  The compact and portable Speedlite 430EX II has a guide number of 43, making it well suited to bounce-flash or telephoto photography. E-TTL II metering with compatible cameras ensures accurate flash exposure in all situations, including when indirect flash is bounced off a wall or ceiling. Flash output can also be adjusted manually in 1/3-stop increments from 1/1 to 1/64.

• 24–105 mm automatically zooming flash head

  When the Speedlite 430EX II is used with a compatible EOS SLR camera, it automatically detects the camera sensor size and zooms the flash head accordingly. This reduces wasted light, extends battery life and shortens recycling times. The 24–105 mm automatically zooming flash head and 14 mm wide-angle diffuser panel ensure flash coverage in different shooting situations. The swivelling and tilting flash head allows the light to be softened with bounce flash when using a single on-camera flash.

• Wireless slave flash

  The Speedlite 430EX II can be used as a wireless slave unit triggered by a master flash. Its compact size and high power make it an excellent slave flash for creating a portable studio consisting of several flash units.

• Power source

  The compact Speedlite 430EX II uses four AA batteries, making it light to carry. Recycling is fast and almost silent, so the unit is also suitable for wildlife photography.

• Durability

  The metal flash shoe and quick-release lock allow the Speedlite flash unit to be attached to the camera easily and securely.

• Flash control

  When the flash unit is used with a compatible camera, flash control, flash output settings and nine custom functions are available in the camera menu**.

• AF assist beam
  The Speedlite 430EX II covers 1–9 AF points and emits infrared light to assist lens focusing in low light. metres, at 105 mm setting, ISO 100* only with compatible EOS cameras
