Key Flag product from our own production line

Hyvän Kaupan Paikka’s Classic Hot Tub is made in Finland, down to every small component. We are very proud of our production line, and have made this Classic Hot Tub model for years using the same proven design. The hot tub’s edge panels arrive at the factory as long lengths. They are cut to size and made into an element, into which the previously bonded insulating base made by Jackon in Sastamala and the maintenance-free, moulded PE plastic tub made by Oulubased Pipelifes are fitted. Our precise hot-tub specialists drill the drain hole in the base, the stove holes in the side and fit the hoses. Finally, the package is carefully tipped onto its side to install the drain pipe.

The Classic Hot Tub is delivered carriage-free to its happy new owner, who only needs to have a water hose, firewood and fire-lighting equipment ready. The owner must ensure that the hot tub is installed level, so that the water does not sit unevenly in the tub. Installation instructions are included, but in practice the new owner only needs to attach the stove, placed on a level surface, to the hot tub with hose clamps, screw the stove’s drain valve shut and—hey presto—get in the bath.

Improved seating comfort in a rotationally moulded tub – also for taller bathers

The maintenance-free, moulded PE plastic tub comes to us from nearby, from Pipelifes in Oulu. At their factory, a tub is rotationally moulded from plastic granules through a precise process. The granules are placed in a mould, which rotates in an oven for an hour. After cooling, the tub is ready to be transferred to Hyvän Kaupan Paikka’s production line.

We have paid particular attention to seating comfort in the tub’s design. The sides are not vertical, as a wedge-shaped insulating air space has been left between the tub and the edge cladding, providing better support for the bather’s back. Our tubs have higher-than-average edges, so taller bathers’ shoulders also remain below the surface of the steaming hot water and their necks do not get cold. Seating comfort is first-class, and legs do not become tangled in this hot tub, as despite its height the bench is not too low.

Super-efficient marine-aluminium stove

The marine-aluminium stoves included in Hyvän Kaupan Paikka hot-tub packages are made in Finland. The powerful 35 kW stove is not even afraid of seawater, as it works with both fresh and salt water. Carefully considered material details make this stove a truly red-hot top product. Marine aluminium conducts heat excellently; the stove’s front plate is stainless steel, and the glass door allows you to check the fire without opening it. The stove package includes 2 metres of chimney pipe and a rain cap; if you want additional pipe, a chimney guard or a spark guard, see the accessories list.

Remember that chlorine is not recommended with marine aluminium, as it starts to oxidise the material. We recommend changing the water often enough and using active-oxygen tablets (see the accessories list). Active oxygen oxidises the water over approximately 24 hours, after which the water can also be used for watering, as it contains no additional chemicals and is safer for children. Oxygen-depleted water can quickly create a slimy surface on the tub’s edges, but active oxygen prevents this process.

Easy maintenance with minimal effort

In the Classic Hot Tub, your backside will not freeze even when the ground is frozen. The 45 cm Styrox insulation in the base prevents cold from reaching the bottom and also keeps the water warmer. The delivery includes a plastic cover that significantly reduces heat loss. A well-heated hot tub can be warmed up again the following morning with just one load of firewood.

Warmth is also provided by the Lunawood thermally treated pine panel, which completes the hot tub’s appearance as the edge material. The pine panel requires no treatment if you do not want to apply any. Its surface will then weather to a beautiful grey over the years. If you wish to preserve the brown shade, apply wood oil annually. The plastic tub is also maintenance-free: because it has no moulded seams, dirt cannot collect in particular areas. However, remember to keep the tub surfaces clean when changing the water. This is easy with ordinary detergents. More meticulous users can occasionally clean or disinfect the tub more thoroughly, but remember to ensure that wastewater is handled correctly.
