Now bidding: BMW 530D with a fresh inspection!

The car came to us as a trade-in during a car deal, driven directly to us.

According to the previous customer, there is a fault in the AdBlue system and smoke has been observed.

The car was test-driven for 15 minutes. It otherwise operates normally mechanically, but smokes when stationary at idle and the serpentine belt makes a noise.

The car was subsequently checked at a garage, where we received the following diagnosis:

- AdBlue injector leaking.

- NOx sensor 1 faulty.

- Particle filter mileage limit reached. Forced regeneration cannot be performed before replacing the NOx sensor and AdBlue injector. If forced regeneration completes, everything is fine. If not, the DPF must also be removed, cleaned and refitted.

- Serpentine belt must be replaced as it squeals; while the belt is removed, check whether any pulley is faulty.

The AdBlue system warning light came on after the sales photos were taken.
