The vehicle has a knocking noise from the engine, which becomes louder as the revs increase.

Initially, the noise was traced to the valve train, so the rocker arms and valve lifters were inspected and replaced. After the repair, the noise changed but did not disappear.

Metal was found in the engine oil, and the noise is currently traced to the connecting-rod bearings.
