Key Flag product from our own production line

Hyvän Kaupan Paikka’s Classic Hot Tub is made in Finland down to every small component. We are very proud of the products from our production line, and we have made this Classic Hot Tub model for years using the same proven design. The tub’s edge panels arrive at the factory as long lengths. They are cut to size and assembled into an element, inside which the previously bonded insulating base from Jackon in Sastamala and the maintenance-free, moulded PE plastic tub from Pipelif in Oulu are fitted. Our precise hot-tub specialists drill the drain hole in the base, the heater holes in the side and fit the hoses. Finally, the package is carefully turned on its side to install the drain pipe.

The Classic Hot Tub is delivered freight-free to its new happy owner, who only needs to have a water hose, firewood and fire-lighting equipment ready. The new owner must ensure that the hot tub is installed level, so that the water does not sit unevenly in the tub. Installation instructions are included, but in practice the new owner only needs to attach the heater, placed on a level surface, to the hot tub with hose clamps, screw the heater’s drain valve shut and—hey presto—get in the bath.

Improved seating comfort in the rotationally moulded tub – also for taller bathers

The maintenance-free, moulded PE plastic tub comes to us from nearby, from Pipelif in Oulu. At their factory, the tub is rotationally moulded from plastic granules through a precise process. The granules are placed in a mould, and the mould rotates in an oven for an hour. After cooling, the tub is ready to be transferred to Hyvän Kaupan Paikka’s production line.

We have paid particular attention to seating comfort when designing the tub. The sides are not vertical, as a wedge-shaped insulating air gap has been left between the tub and the edge panelling, providing better support for the bather’s back. Our tubs have higher-than-average edges compared with other manufacturers, so even taller bathers’ shoulders are below the surface of the steaming hot water and their necks do not get cold. Seating comfort is first-class, and legs do not get tangled in this hot tub, as despite its height the bench is not too low.

Super-efficient marine aluminium heater

The marine aluminium heaters included in Hyvän Kaupan Paikka hot tub packages are made in Finland. The powerful 35 kW heater is not even afraid of seawater, as it works with both fresh and seawater. Carefully considered material details make the heater a red-hot top-quality product. Marine aluminium conducts heat exceptionally well, the heater’s front plate is stainless steel, and the glass door allows you to check the fire without opening the door. The heater package includes 2 metres of chimney pipe and a rain cap; if you want additional pipe, a chimney guard or a spark arrester, see the accessories list.

Remember that chlorine is not recommended with marine aluminium, as chlorine begins to oxidise it. We recommend changing the water often enough and using active oxygen tablets (see the accessories list). Active oxygen oxidises the water for approximately 24 hours, after which the water can also be used for watering, as it contains no additional chemicals and is safer for children. Water without oxygen can easily develop a slimy surface on the tub’s edges, but active oxygen prevents this process.

Easy maintenance with little effort

With the Classic Hot Tub, your bottom will not freeze even when the ground is frozen. The 45 cm Styrox insulation in the base prevents cold from reaching the bottom of the tub and also keeps the water warmer. The delivery includes a plastic cover that significantly reduces heat loss. A well-heated hot tub can be warmed up again the next morning with a single load of firewood.

Warmth is also provided by the Lunawood heat-treated pine panel, which completes the hot tub’s appearance as the tub’s edge material. The pine panel requires no treatment if you do not want to give it any. The surface will then weather to a beautiful grey over the years. If you wish to preserve the brown shade, apply wood oil annually. The plastic tub is also maintenance-free: because it has no moulded seams, dirt cannot accumulate in particular places. However, remember to keep the tub surfaces clean when changing the water. This is easy with ordinary detergents. The most meticulous users can occasionally clean the tub more thoroughly, i.e. disinfect it, but remember to handle wastewater correctly.
