Ion production requires an ioniser device inside the machine. Ozone plates do not produce ions.

ABOUT IONISATION:
Negative ions introduced into indoor air affect airborne, light, positively charged particles by attaching to them, forming a larger and heavier molecule that quickly settles away from the breathing zone.

Negative ionisation also breaks down volatile organic compounds in the air, which are highly harmful when inhaled indoors. Toxic compounds produced by various microbes and mixed into indoor air as aerosols—microbial toxins—pose a significant health hazard when they enter the lungs and bloodstream. Heavy microbial toxins that do not mix into indoor air instead cause harm only through the spores that produce these dangerous toxins.

The effectiveness of ozone (O3) and negative air ionisation is based on high concentrations.

When the device produces negative ions in addition to ozone, the effect is 5–10 times greater than ozone alone, and high concentrations efficiently remove spores and odours from porous materials, such as sofa furnishings and bed linen.

Fine particles in indoor air pose a serious health risk in homes and workplaces.

Harmful fine particles enter the bloodstream through breathing via the lower parts of the lungs (air-sac cells/alveoli), causing serious health problems in addition to asthma and allergies.

    Ozonation and negative air ionisation are particularly effective in pressurised buildings.

    Ozone and negative air ionisation together create compounds that efficiently remove microbial spores and various odours, such as sewer gases, smoke odours, bacterial and mould toxin odours, and persistent odours caused by food preparation and smoking.

    Ozone and negative air ionisation also remove fine particles and MVOC (Microbial Volatile Organic Compound) and VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) compounds from the air.

    Ozonation and negative air ionisation create pleasant indoor air that is easy to breathe and comfortable to be in.

    Ozone and negative air ionisation together produce very clean indoor air in workplaces as well.

Indoor-air ozonation must not be carried out while people are present, as ozone is always produced at high concentrations to destroy microbial spores. The combined effect of a high ozone concentration and negative air ionisation also achieves good cleaning results in porous materials.
