This is what a project that got out of hand looks like!

The fully built pride and joy “Litu” is now looking for a new home, as it must make way for a four-wheel-drive Hiace I bought by accident. Unfortunately, there is not enough space, time or money for both.

I have travelled around Europe with the car without a care and taken a long trip to Norway every year, without problems or major faults. The car is registered for three people, but is most comfortable for one or two when camping.

In winter the car has been stored indoors, and in summer it has been kept protected from the weather.

The car has a good history and, before my ownership, was with the same family for a long time; this shows in its condition. The previous owner also avoided driving it in winter.

The camping equipment was custom-built with practicality as the priority, making the small van functional even on longer trips.

The car is economical to run and has low fuel consumption. There is no driving-power tax or other expensive taxation.

It has been conscientiously inspected and “over-serviced”. I have aimed to use OEM/quality parts so that it can be taken on trips without worry. I have spent over €10,000 on parts and materials; this does not include a single hour of labour. Many parts were also custom-made. The engine was checked/overhauled two years ago.

The factory honing marks were visible in the cylinders, so the engine has not been completely dismantled.

The car is exceptionally tidy overall and everything works as it should. The interior shows that it has been carefully looked after throughout its life.

Most recently fitted or replaced:

- Radiator (custom-made)

- AUTOTERM AIR 2D 2026 diesel heater + Comfort panel

- Propshaft universal joints + balancing

- 100 Ah AGM leisure battery + electrical/fuse box

- Pioneer MVH-S420BT audio system + DLS Reference RCS5.2 component speakers

- Air filter

- Spark plugs, plug leads, distributor cap and rotor

- Rocker cover, exhaust manifold, intake manifold, sump and gearbox gaskets

- Carburettor service + new gaskets + vacuum hoses, etc.

- Upper and lower ball joints + bushes + gearbox mount

- Front brakes renewed (brake discs, pads, callipers, hoses, slider pins, etc.)

- Rear brakes renewed (brake shoes, service kit, wheel cylinders)

- Brake master cylinder + brake fluids

- All brake pipes running underneath the car renewed

- Oils changed regularly + RVS treatment (engine, gearbox and differential oils)

- Water pump, coolant and thermostat

- Fuel pump + fuel filter

- Exhaust system

- Coolant and brake fluids changed

- Higher-output alternator + auxiliary belt fitted

- Interior blower serviced + new brushes

- Temperature and oil-pressure sensors

- Curtains and mattress (custom-made)

- Upholstery and sound insulation for the doors and rear-area panels

- 9-litre fridge/freezer

In addition to the items listed, much more has been done and serviced. Almost all receipts have been kept and recorded in the service book (also including many of the car’s original documents/instructions).

The auction reserve is modest, and the aim is not to recover all costs. Pricing this car is difficult, so an auction may be the easiest way to part with it. The intention is to sell Litu, but it can be put into storage if necessary.

The underside can be inspected while the car is on a lift.
