JCB currently surplus to private-use requirements. Little used in recent years. Engine oil and filter recently changed. The machine has worked hard and it shows, but runs nicely and still has plenty of power. Four-wheel steering and brakes work, with surprisingly little play in the boom. Due to infrequent use, the heater fan-speed switch is stuck; as is typical with JCBs, the hour meter is also not working. I recall a service sticker showing 11,500 hours, and for at least the last 7 years it has only worked a few hours, so I would say it has done well under 15,000 hours. Included are the buckets fitted to the machine, plus one loose bucket, an extendable lifting jib and forklift tines. Also included are one spare wheel rim, a plastic bag of original JCB filters, the operator's manual and a tin of paint. Sensible reserve price; call for more information.

Defects and other observations

  • The heater fan switch is stuck, and the air conditioning could therefore not be tested. One door does not open from the outside handle. A couple of steps are missing, the front mudguards are poor, and the lower parts of the windscreen are cracked; there are also dents, rust and marks around the machine. The interior needs cleaning, and the seat is in poor condition, among other signs of wear. With a little work it can still be made presentable and could prove a good investment.
