For sale: a 1988 Ford Transit motorhome. The vehicle is registered for six and offers versatile space for camping and travelling. The vehicle was rebuilt in the early 2000s.

The vehicle has turbo-diesel power with approximately 300,000 km, fitted in place of the original naturally aspirated engine. The chassis is the six-bolt version, known as the strongest in the model range. Two sets of tyres and two keys are included.

Travel comfort is enhanced by swivel captain’s seats and Alde liquid-circulation heating with an output of 6 kW. The heating works on gas and mains electricity. There is a shower in the rear.

Please note: Seat belts are fitted only to the front seats. Four people can travel in the rear, but these seats do not have seat belts. The fridge and cooker have not been tested, and the gas system has not been pressure-tested.

The engine management power supply is switched on separately using a lever next to the ignition switch; this also functions as an immobiliser.

A characterful and spacious motorhome for its age, with ready-made camping equipment and working Alde heating.

Defects and other observations

The vehicle is driveable and has a valid MOT certificate. Its condition is fair; the paintwork is multicoloured and rust damage is visible. Please note that the vehicle is 38 years old. The vehicle also consumes oil/coolant, as Transits commonly do.
