Defects and other observations

The car came to us as a faulty part-exchange vehicle, and the previous owner left it in the repair shop’s yard, where the new buyer can collect it.

The car starts normally and the engine sounds normal.

There appears to be a fault with the gearbox; the dual-mass flywheel and clutch should apparently be replaced, and the mechatronics unit cloned. Collection by trailer is recommended, and buyers should assess the repair themselves.

We have been unable to test-drive the car and have not diagnosed the fault ourselves. The fault in the gearbox / clutch may be more or less serious.

The car has a recent MOT and decent summer tyres.
