Volvo V70 D5 R-Design

I am selling my well-travelled and reliable car, as my need for a diesel car has decreased considerably.

Comfortable to drive, and the interior is in tidy condition considering its age and mileage. The driver's seat has some discolouration/wear.

Mileage: 656,405 km and increasing every day.

The engine and gearbox have been serviced regularly at a garage.

Servicing and repairs carried out:

• Timing belt replaced in 2023 at 567,xxx km

• Gearbox oil changed/flushed in 2023 at 567,xxx km

• Last oil change at 628,652 km

• New battery in winter 2025–2026

• Thermostat replaced in February 2026 (replaced myself, so there is no receipt)

• The original Nivomatic shock absorbers at the rear were replaced with conventional shock absorbers in 2022

Notes / defects:

• The engine oil and filter should be changed within approximately 1,000 km.

• It has never been necessary to top up the oil between changes, and no oil leaks have been detected.

• Coolant has had to be topped up approximately once a month. The problem began when the Webasto was removed and an engine heater was installed. There may be a small leak somewhere, but this has not been investigated further, so this is not certain.

• The power steering requires repair. It works fairly normally when cold, but as the car warms up the steering becomes extremely heavy. This is not much of a problem at higher speeds, but is clearly noticeable when, for example, parking.

• There is rust on the wings and above the windscreen.

• The air conditioning works, but makes an extra noise and would probably require inspection.

• The parking sensors have not worked during my ownership.

• The tailgate gas struts are worn: sometimes the tailgate stays up and sometimes it falls down.

• If the tailgate is opened manually, the handle remains inside. Opening it with the key works.

• There is sometimes a clunking or knocking noise when driving over potholes.

• Sometimes a similar clunking or knocking noise can be heard when slowing down at an intersection. The cause has not been investigated further. So far, the noise has only occurred when the car is cold.

• The Webasto has been removed. The car has sockets for an engine heater and interior heater, which worked at least last winter.

• When cold, the exhaust fumes sometimes have a slightly sour/unpleasant smell. I have not investigated the cause further.

• If the car has been standing for a longer period, the blower starts running at full power as soon as the car is unlocked. The blower stops when a door is opened. This has not been investigated, and the fault has been present throughout my ownership.

The MOT is valid until 6 November 2026.

Last year, the right-hand sill panel was replaced for the MOT.

Includes summer and winter tyres with wheels. (+ 2 additional loose winter tyres)

The summer wheels are not particularly attractive, but they do the job. At least two of the summer tyres need replacing.

Includes 3 keys.

The car is sold in its current condition, without warranty. The buyer should familiarise themselves with the car's condition and the defects mentioned in the listing before completing the purchase.
