Interior designer Linda Baki's Kioto series for Veke is made up of clean lines and earthy tones. The minimalist and timeless 6-seat dining set is made of durable pine. The surface has been treated with varnish designed especially for outdoor use. The furniture stands out with beautiful slatted detailing, influenced by both Finnish and Japanese interior styles.

The wood is first stained with a water-resistant, water-based stain. The surface is then treated three times with a water-based acrylic varnish. Both products are intended especially for outdoor furniture, but they can also be used indoors. The wood used in the furniture is knotty pine, where natural cracks, knot holes, resin and pith marks, and unevenness are allowed. Small hairline cracks caused by the natural movement of the wood are typical of pine tops and do not weaken the top or affect its service life or durability. Cracks typically appear in winter, but in summer they close as the wood swells. The amount of resin in the wood, the pith, and differences in board thickness and composition can cause colour and grain variations in the tabletop. The colour may change slightly over time, as is typical for wooden furniture.

Store indoors in a dry, well-ventilated place during winter. Clean stains and liquids from the tabletop daily as soon as possible by wiping with a clean cloth. Wipe with a damp or moist cloth and neutral detergent (e.g. washing-up liquid). Dry the surface thoroughly. The top does not withstand chemicals, hot items or substances - these will damage the surface and may leave marks. If needed, re-treat with a water-based varnish suitable for outdoor use. Sand previously varnished surfaces back to bare wood (carefully remove sanding dust) or test adhesion of the new varnish on a lightly sanded surface. Wood oil is suitable only if the varnish is removed from the surface.
