Up for auction is a legendary and rare pickup of its time, a 5-seat Mitsubishi L200, already dressed in off-road colours with a naturally aged patina.
Autumn is approaching and the moose hunting season starts in less than a month. Here you have the chance to bid on a vehicle that is not bothered by the extra electronic gimmicks or AdBlue systems of modern pickups. The car has only limited electrics, and even the windows work by brute force, without having to worry about the uncertainty caused by expensive electrical faults. The body already shows the patina of age, but the overall appearance is tidy. The bed floor is intact and the frame and sills are solid. The chunky off-road tyres are not intimidated by rougher terrain, and the grip lasts longer than the car has power.
This is by no means new, and the odometer already shows almost half a million kilometres, but with gentle care and maintenance it will still get you to many hunting trips, and why not go berry picking before that too.
Even the autumn darkness does not slow things down, as the old workhorse has been fitted with a good LED auxiliary light bar on the front and it works. The car also has an era-appropriate Panasonic sound system with a CD player, so you can listen to the classics of the time if you still have CDs.
