When the outdoor air cools and we start heating our homes, humidity drops. We, pets, plants and furniture suffer from this dry air. The Fred humidifier produces warm steam into the room and makes the air comfortable again. The steam produced by Fred is clean, as bacteria have already been removed from it by heating. Fred, available in different colours, fits into any room.

Steam humidifier

Water is brought to boiling point inside the device, creating purified water vapour. The vapour spreads evenly throughout the room and increases humidity very effectively. This humidifier is ideal for allergy sufferers. Steam humidifiers are very productive, and therefore should always be controlled with a hygrometer. As the heating element becomes scaled up over time, descaling must be carried out regularly.

Dry indoor air is mainly a problem in winter when the central heating is on. Indoor humidity then often drops below 30%. Opening windows does not help, and usually makes the air even drier. When the outdoor temperature is around 0 °C, air can hold only 4 grams of water per cubic metre. When the outdoor temperature is 20 °C, the corresponding figure is 20 grams of water per cubic metre. If the relative humidity outdoors is 69%, this corresponds to only 18% relative humidity indoors. This moisture deficit can only be corrected by using a humidifier. The ideal humidity recommended by doctors is between 40 and 60%.
