Toyota Hiace, 2003, Rovaniemi

A seriously hard-used hunting vehicle, Toyota Hiace 4x4 in a through-body and short-wheelbase model! This one is already well thrashed so it knows its job and carries it out humbly. Mechanically you can already take it hunting once the first universal joint on the rear propshaft is replaced, but for road use / reinspection the vehicle needs a bit more patching. In the pictures there is the fault list collected today (25.8). The vehicle must therefore be collected on a trailer or driven away at your own risk from the Kamux Rovaniemi yard (DRIVING BAN). The car has seen over 586,000 km, so as you would expect, there are smells, tastes, noises and sensations, among other things that come with it. However, for a Hiace with this mileage, the outer body panels are, if repaired, also surprisingly straight. The pictures tell more than a thousand words, including the underside. Still, this is no hopeless project: for someone who can do the work, a couple of evenings of serious welding, a couple of joints and it is ready to be shown at the inspection station again. The engine runs as it should and according to the previous owner the oil has also been changed every 10,000 km. It also does not appear to be leaking anything underneath, at least not in any significant amount.

The partition has been moved and a handy box has been made in the extended rear area for loose cargo, as well as an extra seat for hunting trips / forest driving. The air conditioning blows cold, and so hard it makes your cap spin on your head. The Hiace does not come with another set of tyres; it is fitted with studded tyres with plenty of tread left, in legal but not impressive condition. Good service history, with photos in the booklet as well. Timing belt done on 29 November 2019 / 476,000 km. Last oil change noted in the booklet at 549,000 km.
