The barrel is made of seamless polyethylene, very easy to keep clean and simple to use.

Complete delivery includes a stylish, snow-load-resistant plastic cover with lifting handle, a large approx. 35 kW marine-aluminium stove, a drain tap and drain pipe. The tub is insulated. The base contains a 45 cm Styrox fill — so this tub won’t be affected by frost. The outer shell is domestic heat-treated pine (Lunawood). The tub package is 100% Finnish quality workmanship.

Hyvän Kaupan Paikka’s Classic Hot Tub is manufactured in Finland down to every last particle. We are proud of our production line and have produced this Classic Hot Tub model for years with the same reliable method. The rim panels arrive at the factory long and are cut to size to form an element into which a pre-glued insulation base from Sastamala and a maintenance-free PE plastic basin moulded by Pipelif from Oulu are inserted. Our production experts drill the drain hole in the base, make the openings for the stove on the side and fit the hoses. Finally the package is carefully turned on its side to install the drain pipe.

Classic Hot Tub is delivered freight-free to a new happy owner who only needs a water hose, firewood and fire-starting tools. The new owner must ensure the hot tub is installed level so the water does not sit unevenly. Installation instructions are included, but in practice you only need to fix the stove on a level surface using hose clamps, screw the stove drain valve closed and off you go.

Improved seating comfort in the rotationally moulded basin — also for taller bathers

The maintenance-free rotationally moulded PE basin is supplied by nearby Pipelif in Oulu. At their factory the plastic granules are placed into a mould which rotates in an oven for about an hour. After cooling the basin is ready to be moved to Hyvän Kaupan Paikka’s production line.

We paid particular attention to seating comfort in the basin design. The basin’s sides are not vertical; a wedge-shaped insulating air gap between the basin and rim panels provides better back support. Our rims are generally higher than other manufacturers’ so taller bathers’ shoulders sit below the water surface, preventing neck chill. The seating comfort is top-class and legs are not cramped despite the height; the bench is not too low.

Super-efficient marine-aluminium stove

The marine-aluminium stoves included in Hyvän Kaupan Paikka’s hot tub packages are made in Finland. The powerful 35 kW stove copes even with seawater as it suits both fresh and brackish water. Carefully chosen material details make the stove a high-end product: marine aluminium conducts heat well, the front plate is stainless steel and the glass hatch lets you check the fire without opening the door. The stove package includes two metres of chimney pipe and a rain cap; for additional pipe, a chimney guard or spark arrestor see the accessories list.

Note that chlorine is not recommended with marine aluminium as chlorine oxidises the aluminium. We recommend changing the water regularly and using active oxygen tablets (see accessories). Active oxygen treats the water for about 24 hours, after which the water can be used for irrigation as it contains no residual chemicals and is safer for children. Untreated water can form a slimy film on the rim, which active oxygen prevents.

Easy upkeep with little effort

The Classic Hot Tub won’t freeze at the base even when the ground frosts. The 45 cm Styrox insulation prevents cold reaching the bottom and helps keep the water warmer. A plastic cover is included to reduce heat loss significantly. A well-heated hot tub can be reheated the next morning with a single load of firewood.

There is warmth also in the Lunawood heat-treated pine panels that crown the tub’s appearance. You don’t need to treat the pine if you don’t want to; it will weather to an attractive grey over the years. If you prefer to keep the brown tone, apply wood oil annually. The plastic basin is maintenance-free: without moulded seams dirt has nowhere specific to collect. Remember to clean the basin surfaces when changing water — this is easy with normal detergents. Careful users may occasionally disinfect the basin, but remember to handle wastewater correctly.
