Autolavs pickup camper project, Lohja

If you have ever dreamed of your own American-style pickup camper but haven’t had the time or opportunity to build one from scratch, here is a great opportunity. The hardest work has already been done – you can now finish the module to suit your needs and your vehicle.

This project was built with the idea of creating a classic US-style pickup dwelling for long trips and freedom. Life changed the plans and there was no time left to complete it, so the module is now looking for a new owner to finish the project.

The frame is made from 2x4 construction timber, insulated with Finnfoam and the exterior is plywood. Seams have been treated with car acrylic and the whole module has been painted with house paint.

Still missing:

• Lower section (to be made to suit your pickup’s bed)

• Roof fan (cut-out already made)

• Plexiglass windows (window openings already prepared)

Inside there is a ready sleeping area, window positions and a roof hatch location. An excellent base to build the overland or camping camper you want.

The value of the materials alone is over €500, excluding labour.

The module can be easily transported on a trailer because the lower section has not yet been built. Lifting can be done by about four people, so bring a few friends when collecting.

The lower section has not yet been built, so the final height and the mounting will be made to suit your pickup’s bed. This allows the module to be fitted precisely to your vehicle.
