A conventional fire detector is a traditional, simple detector that works as a single zone together with other detectors in the same area. In the event of an alarm the system indicates the location of the fire only to the accuracy of a particular zone,

unlike an addressable detector, which identifies the alarming device to the detector level.

• Operating principle: Detectors are connected in parallel on the same detection circuit. When a detector senses smoke or heat, it changes the circuit current, causing the control panel to alarm.

• Applications: Best suited for small to medium-sized premises (e.g. small offices, storerooms or terraced houses) where precise location information is not essential and cost-efficiency is an advantage.

• Technologies: Available as optical smoke detectors, heat detectors and combined units.

  
  

Control panels are EN54 approved. Can be connected to an alarm receiving centre if required.
