Land Rover Range Rover P3, 2000, Hyvinkää

Nice, rust-free and low-mileage Epsom Green P38 4.6 Vogue, recently inspected with no remarks.

I imported the car from the UK a year ago; it has done about 7,000 km this year. The body and mechanics are in very good condition, no rust. Its age shows in a couple of small paint spots where the clearcoat has "burned" off; this cosmetic blemish is on the front edge of the roof, so it’s not immediately noticeable. Tyres are friction (non-studded) winter tyres.

During my ownership the small issues that have been fixed include: rear brake pads, a new thermostat, one ignition coil, spark plug leads and the central locking.

Oils and filters were changed last autumn; oils were also changed in the drivetrain.

The engine runs smoothly, does not consume oil or leak fluids. The gearbox also works well; the low-range gearing is fine and engages normally.

The air suspension has been replaced with conventional coil springs.

There are still a few things to tidy if you want to tinker: the cruise control and air conditioning need attention. Of course it drives well as is, and the sunroof helps with cooling.

I don’t exaggerate when I say this is one of the finest P38 examples in Finland. Epsom Green with cream leather and green piping is a really nice colour combo.

If driving a right-hand drive (RHD) car worries you, come and try it — there’s nothing strange about it. The biggest risk on a test drive is that you’ll only want to buy it.
