This is a project for a mate. 1.2 L diesel, Polo van. There is not much to praise — the body has issues here and there and the paintwork is as it is. Apparently it has been standing under a tree for a while; a wash would likely improve it.

Service book filled up to 2022; the subsequent owner has had the car serviced privately.


Receipts indicate a rebuilt engine was purchased in 02/2024, with 125,000 km driven on it. No further details or certainty.

There is also a receipt from 03/2024 for a timing belt and water pump; I do not know if these were fitted.


The car was driven in for part-exchange; it starts a little weakly and has required starting spray. Once running it stays on and drives OK, though it emits thick black smoke at high revs.

Glow-plug warning lights are flashing on the dash. There is a Webasto heater, which the previous owner said worked — not tested, so assume it may not work.


Periodic inspection 04/11/2025 (passed) — one repair request for the left front headlight alignment (too high), no other notes. Unknown if repaired.
