Saab 9-5, 1999, Oulu

Well-presented-for-its-age Saab 9-5 Griffin offered. The car is very pleasant to drive and offers Saab’s familiar comfort and premium feel.

The car has been standing under cover since winter, so the battery may at least require attention. It is also very dusty at the moment. An old Saab may of course have other surprises. It did start with a booster on 3.7, but nothing more can be promised for an elderly car sold cheaply 🤣 No guarantee of operation. Earlier in the winter it behaved so that when warm it wouldn’t start until it had cooled down; the crankshaft position sensor was replaced, but the car was only driven back under cover afterwards, so there’s no certainty the fault is cured — the buyer should be aware of this. It may be fine or may require further investigation.

There are many kilometres on the clock, but condition and driving feel do not reflect that much.

The car was originally imported from Italy, which shows in the specification – this example has the rarer front-seat ventilation (instead of seat heaters).

Also equipped with, among other things:

- Harman Kardon sound system

- Leather interior

- Electrically adjustable seats

The car was well maintained while in Italy.

Visually the overall condition is tidy for its age. There is some surface rust on the wheel arches. The car was declared a loss last spring due to vandalism (scratches), but the most visible marks have been repaired. A little extra finishing would improve it further, but it is fully usable as is.

Sold at this price with the tyres currently fitted (winter friction tyres).

Please note:

- The SID reports the front lights (probably a monitoring relay) and occasionally the rear lights, but the lights themselves seem to work.

- Mirror adjustment does not work

Crankshaft position sensor recently replaced.

This well-equipped and comfortable Saab is offered cheaply as a daily driver or a project – rarely available with this spec.
