Used by a retired couple after re-registration (2019). Serviced according to the maintenance schedule, but was towed to a workshop last week.


Workshop diagnosis: it was found that the thermostat housing had torn off from the engine. Attempts to start the car have failed; the starter noise sounds as if compression is escaping somewhere. When the engine does start, smoke immediately begins to come from the hole in the thermostat housing. Exhaust gases are getting into the cooling system — there is a leak somewhere; engine removal and strip-down are required for a more detailed diagnosis.


So likely engine damage — repair or replacement engine (from a breakers).


Two good tyres on rims, tow bar, front and rear parking sensors, and in tidy condition. Windscreen intact, no stone chips.
