This X5 is in such tidy condition for its mileage that I dare say there aren’t many like it left! All photos taken in bright outdoor light without filters or editing. A few small stone chips on the bonnet; otherwise excellent condition inside and out for the age and kilometres. Mechanically solid and well maintained. Most recently the typically cracking valve cover and its gasket were replaced, and the timing chain was checked at the same time — no significant stretching (tensioner inspected). Strongly suspected that it may have been replaced earlier, but no receipt for that work has been found.


This example is the best combo and of course comes with the M Sport package! Also fitted with towbar, electric seats, navigation, parking sensors and an electrically adjustable steering wheel. In short, it’s well specified. The air conditioning blows cold without complaint!


Carvertical is also clean apart from one parking ding (repair estimate under €1,500) from 2014.

The mechanics feel fine — no rattles or knocks. The excellent 3.0-litre N57 engine carries the large, impressive body with ease. The chain has also been inspected and shows no issues.
